The French invade Holyoke

September 2, 2008

After reading the article about how GDF Suez Energy International is purchasing FirstLight Power Enterprises.

While it seems a win-win situation for Holyoke, as always after a sale the property value is re-adjusted, and will result in an increase in property tax revenue for Holyoke.

Somebody needs to sit down and ask themselves is it really worth having any foreign company control the electric and gas output to the citizens of the U.S.A including Holyoke.

While the current President Nicolas Sarkozy is pro-western, there have been unstable relations with the French in the past.

If you need proof, just look at how the EU is hesitant to impose sanctions on Russia due to their invasion of Georgia and failure to pull back, because Russia is the largest energy supplier to the European Union

Well the EU hasn’t put sanctions on the USA for invading Iraq yet either… Maybe we should give Texas and New Mexico back to Mexico while we’re at it..

And Dubai hasn’t invaded Dallas Texas either, however congress pressured DP World to sell all their U.S based port operations in 2006.

And as far the USA and France over the invasion of Iraq, Don’t you remember Jacques Chirac, and how much anti-american sentiment he has led? including our use of ‘freedom fries’ and ‘freedom toast’ rather than using the word french
